Improving access to general practice: evening & weekend appointments now available
From October 2018, local GP practices are working together to offer patients better access to GP appointments in East Devon – that means you will be able to see a GP or nurse at a time which is most convenient for you, including evenings and weekends. You can be booked into your choice of GP practice in East Devon, but we do require your consent for the clinician you are seeing to have full access to your medical record.
To arrange an appointment, please visit us at reception, or call the Surgery on 01395 222777. We can then provide you with a choice of dates, times and locations.
By March 2019 everyone in England will benefit from access to general practice appointments in the evenings and weekends at a time that is most convenient to them. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients. Further information is available at www.england.nhs.uk/gpaccess
We are keen to seek the views of local people, about how we can further improve access to GP appointments. Since the improving access to general practice service was launched in October 2018, we are now keen to find out people’s views on these hours and if they are in the most appropriate locations.
NHS NEW Devon CCG and NHS South Devon and Torbay CCG have prepared a short and confidential survey to gather views that will take no more than 5 minutes to complete. It gives you the opportunity to tell us about when you would like to be able to access GP appointments and where you would be willing to travel to access them.
Take part here by clicking the link below or copying and pasting this into your web browser:- (Paper copies also available at reception)
